Assist Prof Dr. Yelda Karatepe Mumcu is an accomplished academician and researcher with a background in electrical engineering and a focus on energy-related studies. She completed her undergraduate education at Anadolu University's Business Faculty, majoring in Business Administration, in 1994 through open education.

Her passion for electrical engineering led her to pursue a bachelor's degree in Electrical Education at Marmara University's Technical Education Faculty in 1998. This was followed by a master's degree in Electrical Education at the same university in 2001, where she investigated the power-voltage (P-V) curves of energy transmission lines for her thesis.

She continued her academic journey by earning a Ph.D. in Electrical Education from Marmara University's Institute of Science in 2007. Her doctoral thesis focused on electricity generation using different coal fuels and the determination of fuel performance through artificial intelligence methods.

Professional Endeavors

Assist Prof Dr. Yelda Karatepe Mumcu has held various academic positions throughout her career. Starting as a Research Assistant at Marmara University's Faculty of Technical Education in 1998, she climbed the academic ranks. She served as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Engineering, Chemical Engineering Department, from 2003 to 2006 and then as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Technical Education, Department of Electrical Education, until 2011.

She continued her career at Marmara University's Technical Sciences Vocational School, where she held the positions of Assistant Professor (2011-2017) and Associate Professor (2018-2021) in the Department of Electrical and Energy.
