Prof. Iago R. Llantada is a Professor of Geography currently associated with the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Oceanography in 2020 from UFPR and obtained a Licentiate degree in Geography in 2023 from Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul. Iago also holds a Master’s degree in Oceanography from UFSC, where he was a FAPESC Fellow, conducting research related to Coastal Management. Additionally, he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Law at UNISUL, currently in his 9th semester, with an expected graduation in 2024.

🌍 Professional Experience

Currently, Prof. Iago is a Professor of Geography in Sombrio, Santa Catarina, where he teaches both in-person and remotely, fostering critical geographical skills among students. Iago has also contributed as a researcher at the UFSC’s Coastal Management Laboratory, where he conducted environmental assessments using GIS tools during his Master’s studies. Prof. Iago’s research contributions include work on environmental management in global surf reserves, which he presented at the XIV ENCOGERCO and co-authored a book chapter on coastal governance. His Master’s dissertation at UFSC focused on the challenges and opportunities in surf reserve management. He also conducted research during his Bachelor’s degree at UFPR, evaluating the certification potential of a surf reserve in Southern Brazil, resulting in a published article in “Revista Costas.”
