This was followed by a master's degree in Electrical Education at the same university in 2001, where she investigated the power-voltage (P-V) curves of energy transmission lines for her thesis.

She continued her academic journey by earning a Ph.D. in Electrical Education from Marmara University's Institute of Science in 2007. Her doctoral thesis focused on electricity generation using different coal fuels and the determination of fuel performance through artificial intelligence methods.

Assist Prof Dr. Yelda Karatepe Mumcu has held various academic positions throughout her career.
