Dr. Duraisami Dhamodharan embarked on his academic journey with a strong foundation in the field of chemical sciences. His early education includes a Bachelor's degree in Technology (B.Tech.) from Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, India. During his undergraduate years, he conducted a senior project on "Production of P-amino phenol from P-nitro phenol using nickel impregnated catalyst," under the supervision of Dr. S Aravaamudhan.

Following this, he pursued a Master's degree (M.Tech.) in Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nādu, India, where his thesis focused on "Improving the pre-treatment steps to enhance the biodegradation of PAHs from contaminated soil," under the guidance of Dr. J Jayapriya. His academic journey continued with a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) from the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matters, UCAS, Fuzhou, Fujian, P R China, with a dissertation titled "Graphene Oxide based waterborne epoxy: A complete study of mechanical and thermal properties," advised by Prof. Lixin Wu.
