🎓 Academic Background & Education

Professor Yaser H. A. Elewa is a distinguished Professor of Histology and Cell Biology (currently on Sabbatical leave) at the Department of Histology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt. He obtained his Ph.D. in Histology and Cell Biology in April 2011 through a prestigious channel system scholarship between Hokkaido University, Japan, and Zagazig University, Egypt. Prior to that, he completed his Master’s degree in April 2006, focusing on immunological organs in Ostrich, from the same department. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences, graduating with honors in 2001.

💼 Professional Experience

Prof. Elewa has held several academic positions, including his current role as a Professor at Zagazig University since April 2021. He has also been a Tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Science, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Hokkaido University, Japan, since February 2017. His extensive teaching experience spans various subjects, including Anatomy, Histology, and Cellular Biology, where he has developed and delivered specialized curriculum and laboratory experiments for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students.

🔬 Research Interests & Expertise

With a deep passion for research, Prof. Elewa’s interests lie in areas such as Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, Mediastinal fat-associated lymphoid clusters, and Immunity—both innate and adaptive. His expertise extends to Histopathology, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, and advanced microscopic techniques, including Transmission and Scanning Electron Microscopy. His research has contributed significantly to understanding respiratory diseases, intrathoracic immune hemostasis, autoimmunity, kidney diseases, and reproductive disorders.

🏅 Awards & Recognition

Throughout his career, Prof. Elewa has been honored with numerous awards and scholarships, including the prestigious Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) post-doctoral fellowship. He has also been recognized with the Best Research Award by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University.

📚 Workshops & Training

To further enhance his knowledge and skills, Prof. Elewa has participated in various workshops and training programs. These include training on Nanoparticles at the Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education, Japan, Real-Time PCR Applications at Hokkaido University, and Advanced Analytical Machines usage, including Flow Cytometry, also at Hokkaido University.

🌍 International Experience

Prof. Elewa’s international exposure includes multiple research visits and collaborations, particularly with institutions in Japan, where he has served as a post-doctoral visiting researcher and trained international students in advanced histopathological techniques.
